1. The reference number or luminous intensity

The reference number (Ref.) is a value that refers to driving lamps. According to ECE regulations, this reference number must not exceed the upper limit of 100 per vehicle.
The two values of the standard high beam (left and right main headlight) are counted here in addition to the values of other mounted high beam headlights.

The value is entered on the lens of approved headlights. That means if 4 headlights with a reference number of 25 each are installed, the lower two will go out when switching on. Then there are no problems.

Who does not couple it with the normal high beam and puts it on an extra switch, should consider the following. The switch or display in the vehicle must light up blue and be in the direct field of vision of the driver.

Lazer Lamps LED auxiliary headlights "AIR series"

With the AIR series, the British company Lazer Lamps is deliberately targeting trucks, lorries and commercial vehicles. The light distribution has been optimized to ensure optimum illumination on the road, even in raised mounting positions, for example on a headlight bracket. The polycarbonate lens is a technical highlight. The design of the lens is molded from a single piece and therefore offers better strength and rigidity and also has a hard coating. Another improvement is the mounting system. The LED auxiliary headlight sits lower in relation to the mounting point. This offers a more elegant mounting and a more stylish look. Another feature is the double white position light on the AIR series and is available on all headlights in the series.

The differences in the Lazer Lamp AIR series

The AIR series offers three variations. These differ in terms of function and performance. The housing and glass are the same for all AIR series LED spotlights. The number indicates the power consumption in watts for the individual variations. The AIR-50 standard LED auxiliary spotlight offers a reference number of 40 and has no "boost function". However, the price is a very good argument for entering the series. The AIR-90 standard LED headlamp offers the additional "boost function". This function is familiar from the Triple-R series from Lazer Lamps. Without the boost, the spotlight offers a reference index of 17.5. The boost should only be used away from public roads, in agricultural and forestry applications, gravel pits or similar. A comparable headlamp would be the Triple R 1000 Standard. The AIR-130 Elite LED spotlight is the most powerful spotlight in the series and is comparable in performance to the Triple-R 1000 Elite. This LED headlamp is also equipped with the "boost function". In addition, a black circuit board is used in the assembly. It is visually recognizable by the darker background and the metallized reflective surface.

Our recommendation for installation and connection

A 12V relay is supplied as standard, which is included in the scope of delivery of the wiring harness. Our range offers a 24V relay from Lazer Lamps and can be purchased separately. The 24V relay should be used if the on-board voltage is 24V. The LED auxiliary light has a cable length of approx. 20 cm and is fitted with a 3-pin Superseal plug. The project should be discussed in advance with a workshop. The connection and installation should be carried out in a specialist workshop. This will prevent unnecessary damage to the vehicle and the headlamp. This ensures that you can enjoy your headlights for a long time.
